Well folks . . .
21 03 2010It might as well be official.
After much work I have, in a sense, designed my own website.
I suppose my blog . . . has moved. But mind you this is only a soft launch.
I have loved this blog here hosted by WordPress.com but it is time I stepped out a little more. Everything that you see here you will be able to see at www.LucasSkrobot.com
Enjoy.

Prosperity Gospel–Or Not.
19 03 2010I believe that God provides for all of our needs. I believe that he wants to bless us. I believe that he wants to give us good gifts. I believe that he satisfies the desires of our heart–if we delight in Him (Psalm 37:4) I believe that he will cloth and feed us because he said he would (Matthew 6:25-34).
But I also believe in the persecution and suffering for the gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:3-11, Colossians 1:24).
Here is John Piper on the prosperity gospel. Be prepared to get your heart rearranged.
Christ was made perfect through suffering (Hebrews 2:10). Therefore, “Count it all joy, my brother, when you meet trails of various kinks, for you kn ow that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing.”–James 1:2-4.
This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ–not that life would be easy, but that he would never leave or forsake you through the sufferings of life.

Abortion: Bigger Problem Than Just America
18 03 2010Many of us have been standing and fighting for the ending of abortion in America–rightly so. I love everything that is happening in America, not only do I love it but I’m actively a part of standing for the ending of abortion. Yet, I also have a heart for the nations of the earth.
Here are some abortion stats about some of the other nation in the world.
There are over 180 nations where abortion is being promoted.
Number of abortions worldwide per year: Approximately 46 Million
Number of abortions worldwide per day: Approximately 126,000
78% of all abortions are obtained in developing countries and 22% occur in developed countries.
64 nations have a declining population.
4 million children are aborted in Russia every year (compared to the 1.2 million in America each year).
75% of Romania’s Pregnancies end in abortion
(information from www.YWAMALT.net and www.agi-usa.org)
I’m praying that God would raise up a LIFE movement in the nations.
God, end abortion; send revival.

Love in Cambodia
17 03 2010The Burn 24-7 just sent out a news letter and where I started reading Stephanie Wheeler’s article about Cambodia where she is planted long term. Now, I normally have a short attention span for reading long articles or blogs but this one I was glued to.
I have not personally met Stephanie, but I have heard from many people that she is pretty phenomenal. As a 19 or 21 year old girl she just had to go and love the people of Cambodia–and as you can read people’s lives are being changed because of it.Here is a excerpt and at the bottom there is a link to the rest of the article which is quite inspiring and moving.
The Simple Gospel
by Stephanie Wheeler (Burn Cambodia)
Read below this powerful, raw, and authentic testimony of a young girl burning in the slums of Cambodia.
It’s night, but it is so hot that, even with two fans pointed onto me, the idea of sleeping feels far off (and thoughts of what the heat will be like when it actually becomes the hot season are not comforting!) … so, instead, I’m going to try to articulate what on earth God is doing here in Cambodia, the heart of South-East Asia… it’s big and beautiful, grand and glorious; but also simple and sweet, humbling and holy.
This bizarre (seeming) dichotomy has been keeping the wheels of my heart turning this week and is causing wings to grow on the vision that God has long showed me for Cambodia: it’s going to touch every one of the 14 million Khmer hearts aching for Love…and this grand vision of an entire nation transformed? It doesn’t look like stadiums… It looks like one. And, like the loaves and fishes, and like the leaven… one can go a long way.

Weekend Play and Work
16 03 2010This weekend was full of a lot of play, and a lot of work.
Saturday I enjoyed the day on the beach with some of my good friends. There is nothing like good brothers!
And here is Jeremy’s brave escape.
That–and a light sunburn–was my Saturday, but Sunday was all work and no play as we worked on sound proofing the new prayer room. There aren’t as many pictures–that is because I was working.
